Pretoria – South Africa will fund a proposed National Health Insurance (NHI) programme through the fiscus, employers’ contributions and other funding mechanisms, and the government does not want the plan to increase the burden on taxpayers, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan said on Thursday.

Enter the small claims courts (SCCs), which can handle matters of up to R12 000. No lawyers are allowed in these courts.

I didn’t really receive advice from the broker at the time as I had my own ideas on where to invest the money. I receive regular statements from the company managing my preservation fund and there are always two sets of fees: intermediary or advisory fees and a platform service charge.
Law lets Sars collect first, argue later
Johannesburg – The conditions under which taxpayers can be exempted from the pay now, argue later rule in tax disputes have been clarified by a legal change that took effect on February 1, the South African Revenue Service (Sars) said on Monday.
‘Majority of matriculants unemployable’
Johannesburg – The majority of matriculants are unemployable, trade union Solidarity said on Tuesday.
“School in effect does not prepare pupils, even those who pass, for the labour market,” Solidarity said.
